Thean...Just thought that I'd check in. Been working my day job and staying in cash [bonds] for now. It seems senseless to time this market, with no sense of direction being exhibited. As one who likes to beat the odds, at present I see the gamble at 50/50 that the market can go either way. Remember my girlfriend's 401k barometer index? Her 10-15 year strategy again characterizes the majority of the big money in the market these days [in her case Fidelity funds]; and she still has no intention of taking money out of the market..or even transferring more than 10% into safer bond funds. Sure, it's the lemming school of investing, but it definitely puts a new shade onto the old patterns of bear markets past....
Still, the big move down for the ultra-fliers in this market will occur not if..but when. In my opinion another 1,000 pts. off the DOW will be the extent before the new year, and set the stage for a solid '99. But...what do I know? <gg>
