Global Meltdown? I have just one comment to make on the slightly more fashionable current view that the global financial system is at risk. The reason that the IMF packages, bailouts, central bank intervention, money printing, transfer of private debt to the public sector (stiffing the taxpayer) etc... have not worked so far is because there is a fundamental misunderstanding of how free market economies work (which we do not have, by the way) in virtually all the current mainstream economic thought.
