Interesting data point, thanks for the article. I guess as I read I was wondering how much of the problem was a Baan problem and how much was operator error. I also found it interesting that although Baan was pointed out as the culprit that Snap-On hadn't thrown them out. Seems to me Snap-On might be partly to blame for their own problems. Of course I'm only guessing.

Even so, assuming Baan was completely at fault today I see a number of companies such as CDNow, AMZN, CSCO, yes even CPQ, developing web sites which function quite well. I agree that this phenomenon of ordering via web and translating that into buildable product is a huge challenge, but trailblazers such as DELL will allow vendors of such applications to build, deliver, and support better solutions by learning from successful experiences. So, the question is, is this still an issue or an issue which is soon to pass?
