El...Sometimes I wonder about all these splits though, why does it have an effect on one company and not another...Microsoft has split who knows how many times and the stock still continues to move 2 or 3 points a day many times...I wonder if the only reason Compaq doesn't move that much lately is cuz the uncertainty over the DEC merger still looms, and once profits start coming in if we too will be rewarded with 2 and 3 point days as well!

El,
It is Summer. Relax. Play some golf. When the rain comes this Fall, we will have to make the real keep or sell decisions on Compaq. I hope the price is so high that I need to get out in order to retire. Hmm, it would be boring clipping bond coupons for 5%. .Bet I could work my handicap down to a single digit with Winters spent in a warmer climate. <g> Have to admit the month of October gives me the creeps.
