George, If the militant Muslum fundamentalists really wanted to make the US pay dearly for oil they could easily do this via sabotage to tankers, pipelines, wells etc in the any of the Persian Gulf Nations but they have not. If they just started to do this the fear alone would send the price of oil up several dollars in an instant. I don't buy this theory or else they would have targeted the outflow of oil and not innocent civilians.
