Jim: I applaud you for a most scintillating post. The picture now
becomes clearer. Accordingly, had you unloaded your positions in
July and heeded your own advice, you would have reaped greater
profits than the same action taken at this juncture. Do I have
this right? Though I had suspected that there was more to your
consternation than tearful pity for a faceless and invisible radio
audience deprived of Brinker for a two day interlude (albeit at
a critical juncture in the market), your clarification of this point
was, nonetheless, quite welcome and refreshing.

In any case, I would daresay that those following Brinker's Mar-
ketimer models are less inclined to trade the market than add to
their positions during patented Brinker buying opportunities, gift
horse or otherwise. These same adherents may yield to Brinker's
advice if he advocates the liquidation of a fund or individual
stock as he does from time to time. However, Brinker's guiding
principle, expressed both in his newsletter and on MoneyTalk,
is to remain fully invested during this historically unprecedented
bull run.

On a more aethereal note, it is interesting that you should trans-
form my characterization of Brinker's "guiding, reassuring, and
steady voice" into the misquote, "calm and soothing voice." There
are significant differences between these descriptions that may,
perhaps, add a telling dimension to your underlying argument.

In any case, I am sure I am not alone in finding your recent posts
stimulating and quite thought provoking.
