Are you sure you don't mean "Zapara"? According to bmart, he's lined his pockets pretty well...
I am sure... Emiliano Zapata was a Mexican revolucionaire, from the state of Morelos, (south of Mexico City), that at the cry of "Tierra y Libertad he motivated lots of peasants to take arms during the greatest chaos of Mexican History, (La Revoluci¢n Mexicana 1910-21), like others, (Pancho Villa included), they pursued genuinely better conditions for his compatriots, and stop of the abuses that the Porfirio D¡az dictatorship had allowed to take place.
Zapata, as well as Villa, were assassinated in common ambushes, in the case of Zapata, some of his close associates turned their back against him and he was murdered in said ambush. The irony in the case of Villa, was he was so disgusted with all the internal power struggle, that realized his fight was all in vain, he decided to retire and live the life of a rancher in northern Mexico, only to be killed as he was driving into town. His enemies believed blindly that he was simply faking and was preparing a strike against their interests.
From the revolution, the PRI, (Partido Revolucionario Institucional), was organized, which for the next 70 to 75 years this party operated as a monarchy, in which every 6 years, they simply "named" the successor, 'El presidente'.
They simply they would say: "Elections ?? we need no steeenking elections !!
Hence the reference to the local "Presidente Municipal" (Chief Honcho of a small town in Mexico). They are all ignorant and corrupt, in their eyes, to be a "Revolucionario", meant your wealth was guaranteed by the spoils of political victory (i.e. economic rape of the community).
So as the Presidente Municipal, learns that Emiliano Zapata was a Revolucionario, he ponders, "how come he died poor?"
Likewise, these would be investors, are equivalent to the Presidente Municipal, the fact that they see the insiders have profited, (as it is claimed), all these Amazombies, question with childish ingenuity, how is it possible not to make money with this mythical stock.....
Likewise, they seriously believe that anyone saying anything or questioning what the company says, are members of a vast evil Canadian and m/m conspiracy of short pants, all they see are profits and higher prices....
Soon, However, a similar ambush to the one that took care of Don Emiliano, will be upon the naive "investors" and it will promptly assassinate these cretin's financial dreams.
Meanwhile.... as marcos said, have a seat here in "gayola" and enjoy the blow by blow circus of the absurd. Pop corn, soda, (or wine, or beer, as you prefer), will add to the fun.
History does repeat itself.
btw... There is a famous picture of Zapata and Villa, surrounded by their troops, seating side by side in the presidential chair, at the main government building in Mexico City, after they took over of the city, (only to be promptly ousted by the "insiders" of the circus).
In reality, they were fierce soldiers, not real politicians.
And do not forget..... Ask Chief Running Carp ! (The Indian) |
