Raefon, thanks for taking the time to share your conversation with Tractenberg. Your comments here and on the Yahoo MINI board go a long way to reassure nervous investors in these uncertain times. Regarding TA, I'm not so sure I agree. Your comment,"It only tells you what has happened", brings to mind the often asked question by students, "Why study history?". The answer to the question being that looking back at where you've been helps to see where you are going. Though I would agree there is no certainty in making predictions with TA, I'm inclined to think that the probability of predicting correctly is increased. Of course, there is a substantial amount of "randomness" in the markets, but people remember past prices, and their memories influence their buying and selling decisions. It is these memories which help create support and resistance. Yet, Random Walk adherents would deny that memories of the past influence our behavior in the present. Having said all this, I agree with you about the need to thoroughly look at a company's fundamentals, and I think both approaches can work hand in hand. Best Regards.
