Vector, competition is much more serious than this article has shown. HGS, for example, is still in business, as well as GLGC, Curagen etc. In addition to NIH funded efforts there are also European efforts (first arranged chromosome 21 YAC library as well as complete genome phys. map was made by GENETON, France).Patent battles in this field may cost more than products.
