uptick,

i think it's important for readers of this thread (as well as any public thread for that matter) to be aware of the bias factor when reading member posts.

despite most posters attempt to remain objective in their discussion, bias usually shows through in one way or another.

3 main bias types right here now

* longs
* ex-longs that bailed (or had to bail) and are waiting to get back in at the lowest possible bottom
* shorts

i think there should be a footer at the bottom of each post saying whether you're in or out, long or short, just so the reader is aware of the potential bias in any given message.

where do you fit in? your zeal reveals a definite short bias, but please confirm. and, if you can be really honest, please post what price you shorted at (average) and what your planned price to cover is. is it fair to say that if you think the stock is worth $1 that you will wait to cover until then?

i'm in and long. been buying blocks here and there since 95. my cost basis is about $8 per share which i feel quite comfortable with.

please advise.

-mike

Up_tick,

Would you please repost your pro-forma projections. I
don't recall seeing them.

Another bummer day. Ever the optimist, I'm looking
to bottom-fish once the attrition ends. But I agree with
several other posters that this might not happen soon.
Until the market can evaluate Portico market/partner success,
it's hard to define our floor. Clearly, Markman isn't
going to immediately help us here.

And, by the way, thanks for the previous advice (some
weeks ago), but you are mistaken. I did
not "fail to do my dd on gmgc", as
you stated. My dd was intensive as one can make
it, although I admit to being caught by surprise
by the post-launch trading downdraft. Technological
appraisal is my strength and trading strategies are my
weakness. Still, my average position was at $3 and
I cleared well into 6 figures on my overall position.
My disappointed about being "on the rocks" stemmed
from not clearing 7 figures. Just so we're clear!

Also, you are certainly right that many technologies
crater. Of course, others conquer the planet. The
trick, as always, is to pick the right ones. I still
believe Portico represents one of those
pivotal winning plays. If I'm correct, then
perhaps the market will be offering us a great buy
over the next few weeks.

P.S. I like football players too, but rugby players
are cuter.
