WBC, Correct I agree with your post.

I just want to point out that last I heard Dell was in fact upgrading the Order Entry system (this is the demand part of erp) with Oracle applications - Oracle order mgmt. Previously it was a custom system on a Tandem. I assume the new order mgmt app will run on Dell servers on an NT platform. So, if this is implemented it will mean the 3 basic components to Dell ERP are: Oracle Order mgmt, Chess/Glovia mfg, and I2 SCM software.

The only piece that might be thought of as non state of the art would be the Chess/Glovia mfg piece, but that has been discussed here and it fits the Dell model so its ok.
