What you're doing is correct. The "MS-DOS Prompt" is a bit of a misnomer because Windoze95 is still the operating system; it's just a text interface, like what we old-timers are used to with true MS-DOS. And it's a way to run DOS-based programs, such as PING.

Your response times look acceptable. Here're mine for comparison:

C:\WINDOWS>ping talk.techstocks.com

Pinging v14.go2net.com [206.253.217.14] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 206.253.217.14: bytes=32 time=260ms TTL=244
Reply from 206.253.217.14: bytes=32 time=259ms TTL=244
Reply from 206.253.217.14: bytes=32 time=258ms TTL=244

You're right about the Help system being useless. The only help that's available in Windoze95 for PING is by typing PING by itself at the DOS prompt. And all that'll get you is the arcane parameters that only we geeks would ever use.
