I wonder if people realise how immense is the Amazon basin - it covers an area of 7,000,000 kilometros square - you could drop 12 Frances into it and have room left over. Not that it's all jungle, but a lot is still. There is no way that Brasil would grant a monopoly on the export of even a single product. Well .... let me rephrase that ... what would happen in M‚xico is that they would be only too happy to sell you such a concession, but there is no way on earth that they would honor it - they would sell another one just like it to the guy in line behind you.
