Here! Here! Diana. I'm predominately a lurker on this thread. I read it religiously because it generally has good informational content. These verbal battles are very bad form and greatly detract from the thread. Let's be about compiling information and presenting it to our audience, ourselves. Bulls and bears both welcome. Be nice, even when someone rattles your chain.

BTW, I'm seeing more and more evidence that we are beginning to form a bottom. Not there yet, but soon maybe. Unfortunately, this bottom may occur at a time of general market weakness. There will be very good money made here someday, but the Asian crisis and its aftermath, an initial instigator, will likely postpone that day.

Unfortunately, indeed. It could prove to be the case that what has happened to the oil drillers is a prelude for what will happen to the general market. I genuinely hope that is not where we are headed. Who would want to see the pain we have suffered writ large? If general market weakness lies ahead of us, I don't think that there are many of us who believe that this sector will not continue to suffer.

The keys to future profits in this sector are: 1) Wait for it to bottom; 2) Wait until the uncertainties surrounding the general market abate; and 3) Watch for oil price recovery.

BWDIK. Good luck to all.

Diana - I agree with you. When I first started following this thread, I felt it was one of the best on the web -- friendly, good-natured people with a lot of savy. Wish we could get back to JUST that and forget the rest of the "stuff".
