For example, LU was $108 on July 19, and Asnd was $55.
Today LU is $87, Asnd 45, approximately 20% off for both stocks.

Therefore, if ".6" was an expectation/understanding of some sort, then the rumor has
some basis. JMHO

So did ASND get pulled up since January by LU, or vice-versa?

Did ASND acqusition of SRA which brought ASND down from 52 also bring down LU from 108?

I think we're getting cause and effect mixed up here. I don't buy this conspiracy theory. ASND price appreciation since Jan 98 is a result of improving ASND fundamentals. ASND went up on its own merits, not those of LU. In the same way, LU did not fall from $108 because ASND made an acquisition.

LU is a good voice switching company, but they got pulled down from 108 because of the strength of Cisco, which many are now seeing as their archrival in the near future. Rightfully so, because LU is still trying to figure out the data networking market. This has nothing to do with ASND, other than it will eventually drive them to buy ASND in order to address this weakness.

Okay, so let me get this straight. Tim's theory is that back in January when ASND stock was 25, Mory made a deal with McGinn to sell ASND for .6 of LU, right? Well back in Jan 98 LU was 40, and ASND was 25. So Mory rejected an offer from LU for 35 in cash, but wanted 25 in LU stock 10 months from then???

Doesn't make sense. Doesn't add up. Mory had to know that ASND was very undervalued at 25. Why would he agree to .6 of LU stock which was then valued at 40? ASND stock started moving upward before LU. Look closely at the year chart--if there's any correlation, then it's of LU following ASND up. And this doesn't lend any credence to the theory.

IMO, this theory, while interesting, has no basis. It's merely a coincidence.
