Note the USA Today article: Bin Laden indicted for bid to kill Clinton A federal grand jury has indicted Osama bin Laden, accusing him of ordering and helping finance a 1994 plot to assassinate President Clinton in the Philippines, according to a source with direct knowledge of the investigation. The sealed indictment was handed up more than three weeks ago, before the bombings of two U.S. embassies in Africa, which the administration says were directed by the Saudi millionaire. More than 260 died, including 12 Americans. The White House and Justice Department declined comment, but law enforcement and intelligence officials have confirmed some details on an anonymous basis.
