It's not about sex, it's about politics - people who dislike Clinton do so primarily for political or philosophical reasons. People who support Clinton do so in spite of the obvious flaws in his character. If those same flaws were applicable to a Republican (look at what they did to Newt), the Dems would be treating the situation the same way the Reps are. That's one of the reasons the polls look so strange - we all have to admit (some more willingly than others) that Clinton has a somewhat less than sterling character, but to some that's a chance to retake control of the debate, and to others it's a frustrating loss of control.

If those same flaws were applicable to a Republican (look at what they did to Newt), the Dems would be treating the situation the same way the Reps are. Would you concur on this point?

I think you have it backwards. It's people who are defensive that keep repeating it's only about sex. It's about sex. But it's also about office conduct. It's about purjury. It's about using subordinates to propogate lies. And on and on...
