CSCO signed an exclusive IP contract with AT&T a few years ago and now AT&T is using LOTS of ASND switches and some NN too. Same thing is going to happen with the Sprint ION deal. Sprint right now is evaluating a bunch of ASND and other's equipment, most likely NN as well. This is corporate cheerleading. Dont let your emotions be your guide.

Were those signed contracts or MOUs? Cisco is known for making alliances and vendor-sales agreements, and so on, that some times appear as contracts. Their PR department is second to none when it comes to cheerleading.

Newbridge is known as a carriers's networker and tests its equipment to meet carrier standards. Networkers like Cisco and Ascend have been known to ship products before they're ready and use the installation as a trial. Could explain some of the vendor changes.

I think your advice not to let your emotions be your guide is excellent.

In this case NN longs have been given a solid SBC contract and are saying, "Yes, this is good. This is what we've been waiting for," and you're posting off-the-wall comments like you were Chicken Little in the flesh.

Come on. Give us some credit.

Thanks.

Pat

Mighty Mizzou;

Ask yourself why a company like AT&T or Sprint would switch vendors.
Why does someone switch from GM to Ford?

It usually boils down to lacklustre equipment, support, or the realization that better is out there.

It has nothing to do with Corporate cheerleading, it has everything to do with perception; mine is obviously different than yours.
