Anyone notice EGGS superior IR efforts? If they were saying, "SHORT THIS STOCK," I missed it ;0}The A.I.A. Announces Additions To "Superior" rating list Business Wire - August 27, 1998 09:47 Denver--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 27, 1998--The Association for Investor Awareness (A.I.A.), a not-for-profit entity focused on supplying investors of publicly traded companies with the information necessary to protect themselves and their investments, has announced an updated list of companies whose Investor Relations departments are performing at Superior levels. The companies were selected based on an exhaustive research process comprised of various criteria that enabled the A.I.A. to arrive at a substantive conclusion. The A.I.A. completed a "blind" survey of Investor Relations departments noting specific detail in regard to the aptitude and abilities of the responding personnel. The term "blind" refers to the fact that the Investor Relations were contacted in a manner consistent with the average investor and not necessarily as an investor assistance organization. Areas of concern or interest were: the response time of personnel to messages left, knowledge of personnel, quality of investor information sent in investor packets, access to upper management and more. The results were broken down individually, calculated, and evaluated to determine a relative value for each company. Companies receiving the most recent "Superior" designation are Acclaim (nasdaq: AKLM), Egghead Software (nasdaq: EGGS) , Echo Bay Mines (amex: ECO), and Charming Shoppes (nasdaq: CHRS). The results and mean scores are archived with other investor information at www.investoraware.org on the internet. "We're out in the publicly traded spectrum making sure that companies are complying with their duties and responsibility to investors large and small," stated Outreach Officer, Jeffery Taylor. "We also welcome complaints, compliments, or other information from general investors. They can come to the site and leave us a simple email that will help in our research." The A.I.A. report published today announces the inclusion of four additional companies who have met the aforementioned criteria and were assigned a "Superior" rating for their efforts in Investor Relations. Future reports will note companies who are remiss in their responsibilities to investors or who are also meeting the standard for excellence in Investor Relations. This information will be disseminated and posted at the A.I.A.'s home resource site, at www.investoraware.org . Additional information such as governmental contact links, the exchanges, media resources, and more are assembled at the A.I.A. home page as part of the investor awareness program.
