JoeC -
Still holding that Dell. I am looking to hold at least until I get long term status. I feel comfortable with Dell near term (through the end of the year) and will continue to evaluate after that.

I do believe that CPQ will substantially outperform Dell in second half. I rarely change my portfolio (except for a few minor 'wild cat' investments) unless I think there will be a big negative shift in something I am holding.

Your original question did not ask about DELL's potential for gaining 50% the coming year. The way I read your posting, you were asking about CPQ's possibility of appreciating 50%, using DELL's 3X appreciation this past year [inferring that it might just do this again]. I am not in a position to infer were DELL's stock price (split adjusted) will be next year. If I did, I might not be so queezy about its PE and pick up a few shares.

I don't know if Rudedog owns any DELL or not. All I was attributing to him is that he is one of those people, myself included, who does not just view CPQ as a box maker.

I'm not the best, or even a very good, person to ask for a comparison between DELL and CPQ because I view them as very different companies that are not mirror images of each other in what they do. No joke, it would be like asking me to compare CPQ with another 'computer' company I hold shares of, SUNW. Different; I don't compare one with the other.

Lynn
