Sure... Immediate short term we have an increase as MMs compensate for some increased buying to grab the dividend. Also note that the ask and the spread are already 11% apart. (.3125) Also note that 5500 share represents 1.3% of the company. Probably much, much more of the trading float, as many longs are just not going to sell untill they see break even. (Though the preffered at 20x share will put many of us close or over) If this was a true short trap we'd see 50-60% gains on the same volume (I think). It would help if someone could post Level 2 so we can see exactly how many MMs are on the bid and ask sides. Again, JMHO. I admit it is possible you're right. I just think you're a bit over exuberant. -Tony Edit: Also, we closed on a sell yesterday. so a current buy at the ask pushes the difference way up w/o real movement.
