Stocks of crude oil fell a dramatic 6.8 million barrels (MMB) to 337.4 MMB. West Coast stock was reported off 4.5 MMB to 56.2 MMB this week, affected by crude input of 2.7 million barrels per day (MMBD) and imports of just 0.2 MMBD that had averaged nearly 0.6 MMBD over the previous four weeks. U.S. imports were 9.0 MMBD this week. Crude oil inputs improved by 0.1 MMBD to 15.7 MMBD during the week ending August 21, 1998.
