"Even so, it's pretty devastating to Microsoft's supposedly squeeky reputation -- and by extension -- its relationships with its partners."

Ian,

The story just gets juicier. There are a bunch of related stories on the wires today about Microsoft also strong-arming Intel. Here's just one of many links: news.com.

The timing of all these leaks is interesting. When is Gates supposed to be deposed? Anyway, this could be the early stages of an AT&T-type break-up. It appears that the trust-busters want Microsoft to know that they've got evidence, and that this isn't just some quixotic escapade by a bunch of DOJ fanatics.

Bob

Ian-stopped by your Compusa on 38th/5th today. Lots of people in the mac section and huddled around the iMac. Couldn't help but notice how excruciatingly bare the stock looked as far as imac/pb/desktop's go. Would you mind keeping us posted up to the minute on stock, sales, and units being delivered?

Thanks
