I think that the IMNR people are banking on an eventual buyout by AGPH. Then, after AGPH splits into 2 fragments and DD gets some money after unloading Conoco, then I'm guessing that AGPH will become a direct buyout candidate (I don't believe in the "poison pill"; everybody has a price, IMO). So, I'm staying long on AGPH and IMNR, and, in fact, may buy some more. IMNR has had a recent strong buy recommendation (Prudential Securities) with a target price of 27. PS: Do you think that Pat Robertson is going to pray away the hurricane from the Virginia Beach area?

Bill--I agree, it looks serious and potentially long term. Would you consider shorting anything as a hedge? Actually, the shorts in the biotech stocks have been luckier than the longs. I expect that the losers (in terms of stock price) will continue to loose more as investors bail out in panic. Maybe some of the biotech and other speculative stocks will be great short picks as the bubble breaks. They may have fundamentally intriguing science and prospects, but can they support their share price in a bear market? Do you have any shorts?

billkirn: re your post of last week:
<< I get the feeling we at the edge of something serious. Agouron has been
holding really well given the small cap dive, especially biotechnology. So many new
lows every day, very few new highs. A real flight to quality, especially to solid,
large, secure drug companies. They will eventually fall if the market maintains this
new low to new high ratio.
Expecting some kind of serious downer within the next 60 to 90 days.
I am going to hold my Agouron, and keep insurance with an S&P put.
Hope you are handling this market carefully.>>

Oh you do seem smart today!!
