The really amazing thing about this is that Ritalin is a stimulant, much like amphetamine in its actions. For honestogawd ADD, it works. Where hyperactivity has been misdiagnosed as ADD, it's fat onto the fire.

Ish,

<<a neighbor wanted to enroll her son in a Catholic grade school. That was until they told her all the children were required to be on Ritalin[?], a tranquilizer used to tread ADD syndrome.>>

That's one of the most disgusting things I ever heard in my life. I've thought of going back to the US; maybe I'll just stay in Asia.

On the other hand, where is that school? Maybe I can enroll my kid, give him the drug, hire a platoon of experts to testify that he doesn't have ADD, and sue for... hey, it's the Catholic Church! At least a billion, I'd say.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

I recieved an e-mail purporting to recount a published news story about a former cheerleader who bought contraceptive jelly, smeared it on toast and ate it, got pregnant, and sued the drugstore. "It said jelly", she said.

I doubt it's true, but it's funny anyway.

Are kids now really more hyper then we were, or is it just that nobody has enough patience to deal with it? I mean, my son is a double handful, but what do we have two hands for? We manage. I'd certainly be most displeased if his teacher suggested Ritalin.
