The $600 million for CLCK was a good example of the errors in the article. It's my understanding that Baetz and Gallant have many other holdings including quite a bit of real estate in Florida that they offered.

The FDIC did turn them down. Should we be surprised by this? I don't find it surprising for the simple reason that the FDIC was able to move the banks major assets directly into the hands of a regional bank which was Pueblo Bank.

Lets be serious. Do Baetz and Gallant own any other banks? Of course not, so why would the FDIC want to hand them this one even if they were willing to buy it. The bottom line is that Baetz and Gallant offered to do whatever they had to to make this situation right including offering $600 million in assets. They are still available to answer questions from the press which hardly makes them look guilty to me.

Bottom line is that these guys started a travel club that none of us would invest in. It went sour when the bank failed. Which is the cause? Which is the effect? Who cares?

CLCK does not issue credit cards. CLCK processes credit cards and they continue to do so with the blessings of the FDIC.

Even if Baetz and Gallant were guilty of everything you might suspect they are in your wildest nightmare someone would want to purchase their share in this business. CLCK has a bright future in my opinion despite this current bad press.
