Here comes the IP age.

At 0.21/0.18um we begin to see what might be done with it. At 0.12um, we really get started. At -0.07um, we fly .....

From this point on, the guys with IP wins, and LSI is well positioned for it. They have a lot of the building blocks.

15 years ago when the MSI/LSI age started and systems started to get converted to chips, people wondered who'll win - the system guys getting into chips or the chip guys 'growing' their ware and taking out the system guys. It was the latter.

I don't see this changing in the next round. The guys with the most building blocks plus manufacturing win. LSI will be one of those. People like Hyndai/Goldstar will be playing catch-up games.

Moonray,

I don't think that post was as off topic as you may think.

The neighbor that is adjacent to where I work is a subsidiary of Texas Instruments, their name is Silicon Systems. Correction, used to be Silicon Systems. The other day a new sign was erected. It now reads "Silicon Systems Storage Group, a division of Texas Instruments."

I don't know what their game is, but their sign sure has me concerned.

Isn't Symbios into storage?

[OT - E!'s portfolio gets small]

Moonray,

Well, my last targets for support were of no help. Your call for a market crash may have been quite keen..........move over Ralph Makempoora!

What do you think of the big charts now that some of the dust has settled? Are you looking for a rally and then another [lower] dip? Seems like this is what many here on S.I. are expecting, or, at least hoping for. I can't see below Dow 7400 and a 1600 COMPX........my defense mechanisms won't let me.
