Just a couple of thoughts:-

One time charges will no doubt include operating costs like all acquisitions do (despite closer examination these days), so earnings are assured when the takeover happens

Does this make FORE a better or worse takeover candidate ... i don't know, but suspect, when it happens, better

Adversely, short term traders will see this as bad for any short term takeover for which they had bought the stock

There may well be further earnings cuts by analysts setting another couple of days negative tone

If not for the market and its treatment of anything that isn't bluechip with assured earnings and news pending (ala Dell & PFE), I would be buying. If the market doesn't collapse I think the pictures quite rosy. Still, sad for short term paper loss in these uncertain times

Good luck all

Stephen
