Catching up here. Still have folks on the WestBank of N'awlins...out off of Belle Chase Hwy. Started thinking about it tonight as I picked okra...by the time I reached the end of the row - the okra was chanting "Gumbo,gumbo,gumbo."
So I spent the evening cooking ham-hocks,garlic,onions,smoked sausages,chicken, herbs and such with a little extra tabasco and worchestershire sauce. Unfortunately, we are a little too far from the Gulf for a few fresh oysters...just for seasoning.

BTW - whipped up some of Druss's (Drusss?) Key Lime Pies...just in case I had some room left over.
