Thomas -

I've been worried that earnings estimates for RIG have been cut severely, without them being available publicly. Now that RIG has come out and set the record straight by verifying earnings estimates, maybe we'll get some reality back in this sector. RIG probably has the most earnings visibility of all the drillers.

What we need now are more companies to do the same.

I hate to sound like a permabull, but this just verifies that this opportunity may be historic. I will do some more research tonight to see how far back RIG's current PE was (if ever) 10. Like I said before, it would've had to have been before 1993.

BTW, I just discovered that RIG has a DRiP program. It would be a great way for someone without a lot of money to get in this sector and use the volatility to their advantage by dollar-cost averaging. I have several DRiPs and RIG's is one of the best as far as fees, etc. I plan to start it soon.
