He expects ATI to list on Nasdaq, possibly by the end of the year.

CL, I just read somewhere that ATI is working with Acer Labs on a graphics-integrated Pentium II chipset. Which is a great move by ATI, since Acer Labs appears to be the front runner in the race for third-party PII core logic chipsets.

Reportedly, VIA is working with Trident. SiS has been offering integrated graphics for years, but have not been able to capitalize because of the quick transition to PII motherboards (at one point they were designed into some low-end HP PCs).

Which begs the question, is S3 doing anything in this area? I don't think there are any significant chipset suppliers left. That said, the Savage3D design is fast and cost-effective enough to survive as a seperate chip for some time.
