I apologize for the misunderstanding.

FWIW, my overall strategy with stocks has been to sell off a portion of my holdings once it achieves the goal I set for it. Depending on the history of the stock, what the market is doing, etc, etc I determine on a stock-by-stock basis how much of it I will retain. In some cases I have bought back the stock at a higher price once I felt comfortable with its strength (Dell is a perfect example.)
