Deflation is closer than inflation for this 'cooled' economy. Try coming up with some real data. I dare you. I know you can't! You will not be able to find any evidense of inflation! This is what Greenspan has tried to do for the last several years. I think Greenspan is getting alittle senile of late. He is past his prime! He has been chasing ghosts. Unfortunately, for many people, Greenspan went after the stock market. It was the stock market that Crashspan thought he saw inflation. What an idiot! The stock market was the only thing that was increasing in price because companies were making money. Well that's over now. The fat lady is signing her song. The bull market is finished. Ironically, Russia has been associated with a bear. It has been called the Great Bear. The USA is now surrounded by many countries that are doing terrible. They have hit their 12 year lows. Most in Asia, Australia, new Zealand, Latin America, Russia, and more to follow. How long do you really think the USA and west Europe can prosper while Asia, Latin America, and Russia are suffering greatly? Not long! BTW? Japan at 1:35 am CST is suffering a 3+% loss, the Nikkei is now at 14413.79. Do you really think Japanese are not buying American software because of the Y2K problem? Perhaps it is more than a 50% devaluation of their currency??? Yep, that might have an impact on Japanese sales. Most companies do not see any pick up within the next 1-2 quarters. I agree with them. So, during that time as long as Mr. Bearspan keeps rates where they are, the prices will keep coming down! Getting back to our previous posts,, You didn't mention ANY of my examples. What about gold? What about the YIELD curve? Perhaps you DON't KNOW anything about them. What about a strong dollar compare to a weak Yen. Again you made no comments. What about cheaper gas. What about cheaper commodities? These downward price pressures have been going on for almost 18 months. So, this satisfies your poor definition of deflation. It also proves, you can not face the issues I brought up. Since it would be futile on your part to disagree anyway! So give up - I have won this easy round with my FACTUAL examples and proofs! You supplied NOTHING but hot air and defensiveness. Face up, it is impossible for you to talk about an inverted yield curve, the price of gold, what companies are having a harder time making money because the dollar is so much stronger now, and on and on.. I am supplying more proof that many companies, many strong companies have blamed their weakness on Asia and/or Japan. I have included them at the bottom of this post. Overheated economy?? Absurd!! Please don't tell the thousands of people that have been laid off recently and the thousands to come that this is an overheated economy. I suspect that you can not find evidence for a overheated economy as I have found evidense for an economy on the brink of major problems!! So, put up or shut up! You know nothing about our economic situation. cbs.marketwatch.com i2 shares battered on weak overseas sales Dain Rauscher Wessels analyst Bill Lanzon said i2's (ITWO) foreign sales in the second quarter dipped to $14.2 million from $16.8 million in the year-earlier period. I just gave many examples where the companies know that their weakness is in Asia. Refute that! You can't! As far as BEAS and Y2K. No, I think that could only help BEAS. Remember they beefed up their service department big time. They'll just get paid the big bucks fixing others problems.
