jmac,
Without going through every program it's not possible to say which ones utalize cache more. Generally though, business type apps tend to use cache more than games.
Remember that the 128k cache of the "A", unlike the P-IIs 512k", is in the same silicon as the cpu....I believe this increases efficiency.
Also the P-IIs cache runs at 1/2 the clockspeed of the cpu where as the "A"s cache I belive runs at full clock speed. That could make of for some of the difference in cache size. Still, I imagine that some programs that use the L2 cache extensively might run slightly faster on the Pentium II. Business Wintone 98' I believe runs some programs that use a lot of cache and the scores are about equal. The old Celeron with no cache was dismal on Business Winstone 98 which shows that the 128k cache of the Celeron A is getting the job done very well.
