Mkilloran and Laurens, thanks for the clarification. Am I correct in thinking that individual E.U. member states would launch Viagra at different dates? If that is the case, I presume that the UK would not delay their Viagra launch, seeing that the drug was discovered by British scientists, and reports so far from UK indicated that their medical profession are generally very supportive when discussing the drug, and are all for early approval to curb black market sales.

In an earlier BBC report (August 25):

Approximately 120 men have died after taking the drug in
the US. They ignored warnings that Viagra can be
dangerous if taken in combination with drugs for heart
disease.

However Derek Machin, clinical director of urology at
University Hospital, Aintree, welcomed EC backing for
the drug.

Mr Machin, who warned at the British Medical
Association annual conference that the NHS could be
overrun by demand for Viagra, said: "I have used it on a
few patients and the results are extemely encouraging."
