Re: "As for the technology race, Intel has just leap-froged AMD with the Mendocino. But, 350 Mhz K6-2 will sell in the next few months from IBM and Compaq. AMD should regain sales with the K6-3 and the K7. But, regardless of AMD's chances, the fact is that the Mendocino is a serious threat to the PII. And, as such, the PII clock speed has had to be increased to the point that it is a serious threat to the Zeon. The PC rags will sort all this out for the consumer. "

AMD regain sales with the K6-3 and K7? Always a prayer for tomorrows salvation.

Mendocino is no threat to PII as time will show. (Hey, I heard this down by the swimming pool or was it on the Intel private line? I can't remember).

PII is not competitive with Xeon in the market Xeon sells into.

Re: "Holders of AMD have already suffered serious stock price erosion. It is only a mater of time until the same thing happens to Intel stock holders."

I continue to have a position in AMD which is well into the black, and I took a larger position in Intel today. Wish I could tell you why but the talk on the Intel private thread is under NDA <G>
