E'Lane... what can I say?

I always knew it was bad ju-ju to piss off sis! Excellent post and expressed my feelings better than I could myself.

For any scam to be successful, the "victim" has to be a willing participant. The con is played around the victim's hope and / or greed. I think I first heard that in the movie "The Sting." It appears that the vast majority of us have had that truth brought home to us in a very real way. The victims in this scam are those that were left holding the bag, but that does not mean that those that sold for a profit were the perpetrators of the con. That is faulty logic driven by a meanness of spirit.

And you know what? It doesn't even have to be a scam operation for us to be duped by our own greed or hope.

What differentiates us from a person like Bird is that we recognize our own responsibility in being taken to the cleaners - that we made the decisions and that we own the results. That is not to say that there isn't anger or other strong emotions, but they are not directed at other victims. That would be irresponsible and immature.

Owning up to and being responsible for our own actions... its something we all try very hard to teach our children.

Lazarus, proud of my twin!
