Hi Dan,
"This is what defines a bull vs. bear market. "
Bull Market - when good news is good news and bad news is good news.
Bear Market - when good news is bad news and bad news is bad news.

Best regards, Tom

dan--

well, right now globex says down 12.40. i am still thinkign a rebound is in the cards manana.

guess we will just have to wait and see. what no one seems to get is that asias success has bred its own downfall. we dont export enough to them (because of their protectionist policies) for their economic downturn to matter. all we have to wait on is for the talking heads on CNBC and the street to realize this.

as for the big fall, when it comes i dont think it will have much to do with the nikkei being at 13000<g>.

good luck to all,
trey

Dan, I was wrong about VLSI, it looks really cheap and is probably a great buy. Book 12 a share and 7 is in cash. Year over year recieveables and inventories have stayed constant. They do have some debt, but their financial position looks more than adequate to handle it. The only thing that bugs me is this(and I know I'll gets some boos for this) but when(now I'm even saying if) the semi's turn around will this stock be one of the ones that explodes. For example AMAT could go up 400%(as it did a couple of years ago) and split two for one and the story goes on. What is VLSI going to do, double, maybe 150% return. I guess what I'm is will VLSI lag the other Semis in a rebound. I don't know, but the valuation is incredible. The one thing I didn't check was their return on equity.

How much is VLSI doing with Ericsson's newest product lines ?

They are such an important customer, 25%of sales I recall, that any change in that relationship could explain the recent price moves.

As, the 3g phones and CDMA products roll out for GSM specs, I want to know that VLSI is in there. Does anybody know the answer, or can we find out ??

And how about Apple ??? Still a good customer ??
