Juri: re banks

helping grandmas over the street with their retirement saveings account (and scalp you on the cash withdrawal ...) is just a part of their business. I dont think Japanese banks have any trouble with this side of the story. Actually Japanese are the best saving nation on this earth - at 1.5% a year, waiting for their retirement ini 20 years and working 12hrs days -.

The big part (actually the only part) of business of any bank is mediating (the access to) capital. And that's where the situation in Japan got screwy 10,15,20 years ago. Because the system did not direct them towards/allow them some balance between the responsibility, independance, risk management etc.

JT, Bothered, I don't think so.

A great discussion fellow Dude. So, the bank robbers are now the banks; that's an interesting twist. I understand that one of our states, Oregon, outlawed banks in their original constitution.

When I went to take my nap (I couldn't sleep), I expected to wake up to a lot worse market situation.
