Dennis:
<<<Nobody knows what Dell will do today or tomorrow UNTIL it does.>>
Am expecting Dell to hang tough as usual but go down a bit. Mutual funds, banks may take a big hit.
Entire new industries have been built on the past work of Intel and Microsoft and companies developed to use their products. It would help if the government would "get off their case" at least temporarily but they have been at it for years, (same as Clinton)with no resolution in sight. Those involved(mostly attorneys) would say they are just doing their job, and if involves hurting the US economy then so what, they have the perfect excuse.
Dell has the power to survive this, but those will projected reduced earnings or growth will be in trouble.
It will be fascinating to see how Cpq performs vs Dell today.
May the Dell be with you.
Regards
Sig

Dennis,

You're right, it is scary to open up our wallets and toss over a hundred dollars a share on the table for a stock. However I believe you are wrong about at least some of us when you say "It is real easy for the people that have been in for awhile to keep pounding the table, chairs, and anything else in the room...BUY Dell, BUY Dell." I have the same fears as a first time investor whenever I buy more stock..even Dell. I recently paid $122/share for more...that CAN be more difficult because you play the "hmmmmm...I've never paid this much before for it...am I over paying, what if etc, etc" game.

I'm not criticizing your comments, just clarifying that most of us get the "butterflies" when investing that kind of money. Although we do tend to get excited when Dell does one of its traditional "runs" I think most posters always instruct the new investor to make up their own mind and do their own DD.

<<Nobody knows what Dell will do today or tomorrow UNTIL it does>>

Absolutely...but the same goes for CSCO, probably even more so.

Good luck!
