I think that the worst is yet to come ....think about back in the 80s...people werent going to stop using banks either but that didnt stop Citibank et al to fall to 8 etc.... INTC could always delay couldn't they? I mean if they feel that (a) they are still not ready or (b) there's going to be to much turmoil out there economically, what is the sense in spending more? (Maybe I phrased that wrong)

We may see a bounce in the next couple of days but I think we are going to test the October Lows from here if not go lower....this selling day after day, most people have never seen it since the 70s...this is going to be one of those agonziing drops with false blips up. Human nature changes from "Long Term" to Short Term very quickly when the average Joe is seeing their retirement fund etc drop into the sea....Bond inflows remain strong too....something which troubles me since for so long there hasnt been an alternative to stocks....

Again, whenever I make these statements I am jsut about always wrong. so I guesss by the looks of it, you will make a mint much sooner than I will....Just my luck.

PD

David,

Have you heard anything about how Micrascan IV development is going? I think the ArF scanner market will be a whole new ball game for all participants. SVGL should be able to win some new customers.

BTW, you aren't the only person in "buying mode".

Bob

David, I think TER is a good buy for the next cycle at 18. Unless you think the average investor is going to totally flee stocks and not come back for several years, semis are the best sector out there. Drugs are too expensive, networkers are too concentrated, autos too exposed to foreign competition (as opposed to foreign customers in the case of semis). TER is interesting because it has a diversified business of logic and communications.

While I am thinking of SVGI, I also like ASMLF. I wish there were an easy way to construct a basket of semiconductor stocks. I want AMAT, KLAC, KLIC, CYMI, SVGI, and Nikon. I'm not interested in INTC, MU or other chip producers at this time (too much big cap effect).

The word is dollar cost average. The market will turn around and test new highs n December-January, if only for liquidity. Whether bonds are at 4.5% or 6.0%, the market can still go through 1200 S&P, assuming the money flows in as it has.

Other stocks to consider: HD, QCOM, PSIX, ERICY, GSTRF, IRIDF, LOR, GMH. All (except HD) are going to be major new economy forces and are trading at a steep discount.

Take care everyone,
Matt

< I am buying more today and trying to catch that falling razor.>

The good news is that at this point the razor is so dull from lopping off all those fingers on its way down that you may catch it... and if not you can catch it as it bounces off the floor and it won't be moving so fast.
