Then NEXT YEAR, I'll show it again, only with the actual covering transaction cost and the resulting gain or loss.

Of course the 1099 for "NEXT YEAR" won't show the sale for this transaction, so should you add an explanation as to why your gross proceeds exceed what your 1099's show?
