To all,

According to the charts, our next major resistance point will be at 23 7/8 which was achieved on December 29, 1997. If we break under, then the next stop appears to be at around 20 1/4. Of course in this type of market, all rules may go to the wayside.

[WinStar Expands Switched Services To Columbus, Kansas City and Minneapolis; Remains on Schedule to Reach 30 Markets by Year-End]

WINSTAR COMMUNICATIONS, INC. today announced it is providing switched telecommunications services in the Columbus, Kansas City and Minneapolis markets. These services are now running off Lucent 5ESS-2000 switches in all three markets.

WinStar provides business customers with a single source for local, long distance, Internet, data and information services. It provides switched services as part of the nationwide deployment of its facilities-based competitive local exchange (CLEC) services.

With the activation of these switches, WinStar now provides switched services in 27 markets, including Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Fort Worth, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, New York, Newark, Oakbrook, IL, Oakland, Orange County, CA, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Stamford, CT, Tampa and Washington, D.C.

WinStar is on schedule to deploy its telecommunications network in the top 30 U.S. markets by the end of the year and has targeted three additional markets for the introduction of switched services: Miami, St. Louis, and Cleveland.

"We're excited that with the addition of these new switches we are well on our way to reaching our target of providing switched services in the top 30 markets by the end of 1998," said Nathan Kantor, WinStar's President and Chief Operating Officer. "As these switches are installed, we are able to offer a full range of facilities-based telecommunications services on our own facilities, which enables us to guarantee WinStar's unique combination of speedy installation, high-quality, reliable service, and attractive pricing. This distinguishes us from other companies that do not have their own networks and will give us an important competitive advantage in 1999."
