From Ancor's latest 10Q:

There are 12,148,086 shares of common stock outstanding as of July 29, 1998. Subtracting the amount 11,919,163 (as of April 3, 1998) you get 228,923 shares.

If you look at the chart July 29 is interesting. At that point the average daily volume looks like it had been doubled for about a week. July 29 is also about mid-point in the time the share price was falling from the 3s to the 1s.

Looking at the increased volume, the first third of the curve may been associated with dilution of a quarter of a million shares. Not hard evidence for the dilution vs. shorting vs. both hypothesis.
