More * Political Commentary * - & the GDP. Our illustrious president is scheduled to visit Russia (& Ireland) starting next week. He probably relishes the thought of getting out of town. But I wonder if he's got a clue as to what to do in light of the Russian market/currency meltdown? If he wasn't in so much hot water here he would probably cancel the Russian trip so he's not associated with that meltdown. I know Brinker downplayed the Russian situation somewhat, but it's obviously adding to the negative market psychology/panic. >Q2 GDP growth slowest in three years< usatoday.com Some interesting data in this report.

Other Presidents would be all over this development. Why fly back to Washington for a review of bombs already dropped on terrorists yet ignore this event is beyond me. Must not have been part of the script. Our President is on vacation and is scheduled to make a possible political appearance in Massachusets.
