As a woman, I can assure you that I have suffered no threatening behavior from the tobacco companies, insurance industries, the NRA or the religious right.

Well, there is no accounting for stupid women.

Whoops my post #834 should have replied to this post.

To reiterate, I need protection from the religious right, many many people have suffered threatening behavior from the religious right (the most obvious of which are the workers at abortion clinics, and Drs that perform abortions).

The only way to defend myself against this real threat is to make certain a rational, moderate individual is installed in the white house or Congress - of course this judgement is not easy to make. Just to give it a shot though, on the Republican side I would say Newt is the scariest, Dick Armey might be ok (what I saw of him I liked), Quayle seems like hes too intellectually challenged for the job. On the democratic side Boxer is scary to me, I do like Feinstein.
