LL,

US $ and bonds are seen as strong but that's temporary? Everything's temporary to an extent. I've bet against the US market, dollar and bonds for years now and my retirement kitty doesn't exist anymore. Until all other world currencies waver, I wouldn't bet anymore of my money against the greenback. I,also wouldn't bet against US gov. bonds . They will head higher if US rates decline and in this deflationary environment, that's what they have been slowly doing for years. Gold has been telling us for years now that their isn't enough uncertainty to create artificial "investment" demand from those who have enough liquidity to make a difference. I've been losing with gold till I think I've lost my youth. Gold is heading below $200 US per oz.,IMO, and the world is teetering on a world wide depression,IMO. US bonds are the only decent investment,IF this is anywhere near accurate. I hope it isn't,especially the depression part, but Canada and America can't escape while the rest of the world is in turmoil like 1929. Times like this spawn wars, too.
