I have been long for 6 years. Today as a result of
a change in my tax situation, I was able to unload
all of my intel (avg price = 14) with minimal tax owed.

Many thanks all, especially to Jules, Paul, Ibexx, VG, Glenn,
and TheBaldManFromMars (about whom I still laugh when I
think back to that first earnings disappointment).

Best of luck.

Regards,

J

John,
Great trading John...
Trading to a great extent protects one from downdrafts like this in that the less time one spends in the equity the less time you are vulnerable. Seasonality systems can do the same thing.
I don't expect you will hear much criticism anymore here from the dyed in the wool buy and holders of Intel.

One ominous sign...in the late 1920s while our economy was booming and the rest of the world was mired in depression, the US was seen as the safe haven. Foreign money came to the US, to our markets, helping drive the DOW to lofty levels. Finally the market crashed and the depression spread here. The parallel should scare the h*ll out of you.
