Anyone agree? (Yes its O.K. to tell me I'm nuts).

Ok, you're nuts. :) But I appreciate the consoling words. I hope you're right, too - obviously. Perhaps this is finally the washout that everyone has been looking for. How's the volume been? Hopefully very heavy.

Thanks! And I guess I won't short SPY here at 105 after all. ;-)

Ken

PS - PETE, those sentiment numbers will REALLY be amazing next week.

Oh no, we're in a bear market for sure. We're all going to lose every penny. I don't know what I'll do if Bob isn't on the show this weekend. He really owes it to us this time.

Oh my oh my. I just looked at the ticker and the market is down another 30 points. It's a bear market for sure. I don't know what to do.

Oh NO!!!! I just looked at the ticker and the market is DOWN FURTHER!! WOE IS ME!!!

OH NO, OH NO, OH NO!!!! OH THE DISPAIR! DOWN ANOTHER 50. THAT'S IT, I'M SELLING FOR SURE!! I'M CALLING MY BROKER RIGHT NOW.

PS I the above is not my true belief, it is just what I've been seeing a lot of today.

Wally, I too have a "gut" feeling that the markets will recover to a loss of under 150 Dow points...maybe even under 100 Dow points.

I think the major uncertainly at this time is not only the Russian economy, but who is going to run the country. Although there was a rumor earlier today that Yeltsen had resigned, it was later denied. However, I think its only a matter of a few days until he's gone. There appears to be a strong possibility that some "hard liner" will take over. There also exits the possibility that Russia will move away from a free economy to some form of controlled economy. In any event, as you know, the markets don't like uncertainly...and, we sure have uncertainly in a big way.
