Hey Mindmeld:
It won't happen. Nearly all of Cisco's competitors have invested in Juniper already. They are all looking for companies like this that they think might have a chance of toppling Cisco since they can't do it themselves. There is no way that they would let Cisco buy out their ownership of it, IMO.

Mindmeld, I think that if we all had insight into the articles of incorporation for Juniper, we'd find that none of the stockholders has the right to purchase the company. This was a carefully orchestrated private placement that helps the companies avoid the kind of development standards war now raging in the wireless arena.

Juniper probably wants to be eventually bought by Cisco as much as Dell wants to be bought by Compaq (or Compaq by IBM). Juniper wants to be a major player on its own.

Assuming things go as well for Juniper as their backers hope, Juniper down the line will be doing what Cisco does--buy little guys itself.

Lynn
